Dodge Ram Lemon Law Attorney

Dodge RAM pickup trucks are pitched by Fiat Chrysler (now Stellantis) for style, handling, and dependability, but many Ram drivers have reported all types of defects. The automaker has also issued numerous Ram recalls and technical service bulletins. If you own or lease a Ram that has ongoing repair problems, you need an experienced California lemon law attorney in your corner.

Wirtz Law APC represents Ram consumers in lemon law claims arising from engine issues, transmission problems, steering and suspension issues, vibration issues, and other defects. We have a working knowledge of the state lemon law and federal warranty law and a track record of achieving positive results through negotiation and litigation.

Common Problems with Dodge RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 Pickup Trucks

We have represented Ram truck owners in lemon law claims over a variety of repair issues:

Front-End Vibrations — The Death Wobble

For years, Ram pickup trucks have been plagued by serious front-end vibrations which have been dubbed “the death wobble” by vehicle owners because the vibration occurs while traveling at high speeds on highways or after hitting a bump on the road, making it difficult to control the vehicle.

Widespread vibration problems have been reported in Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 vehicles. It is unclear whether the vibration problem is caused by the drivetrain, the size of the cabin, the support bars in the roof, or the tires, but Ram has not issued any recall. If your Ram is experiencing excessive front-end vibrations, you may have a lemon on your hands.

Battery Defects

New Ram 1500 owners have reported unexplainable dead batteries on their new purchase, check engine lights coming on after driving short distances, and flashing charging icons.

Transmission Issues

Transmission issues resulting in shifting problems are common in Ram trucks; drivers have reported jerky shifts, late shifts, slow acceleration, clunky shifts, and other problems.

Cracked Dashboards

Cracked dashboards have been a longstanding problem affecting thousands of Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 vehicles. The dashboards were likely made of defective plastic composed of cheaper materials that are not capable of withstanding regular use.

Engine Issues

Ram trucks have suffered a wide range of serious engine issues, including:

  • Cam and lifter failures
  • Exhaust manifold failures
  • Compression issues
  • Coolant leaks
  • Engine stalls
  • Cylinder head failure
  • Engine failure
  • Illuminated check engine lights

Ultimately, engine issues affect Ram truck reliability and increase the risk of engine fires. When it comes to your safety, the team at Wirtz Law APC has your back.

Dodge Ram Recalls

Defective Airbags

Over the years, FCA has issued numerous Ram recalls and technical service bulletins. Most recently, 2015-2020 Ram 1500, 2015-2016 Ram 2500, and 3500 vehicles were recalled for defective airbags. The recall involved 212, 373 Ram pickup trucks. Dealers were instructed to inspect and repair the defective side airbag assemblies.

Software Issues

In July 2021, Ram recalled 32,002 2019-2020 Ram 3500, 4500, and 550 cab chassis vehicles due to engine calibration software that may not warn about low oil volume, which can result in an oil leak or a punctured engine block, increasing the risk of fire and serious injuries. Dealers were instructed to recalibrate the software.
